Big dreams and builds made easy with Big Plans

  • Written by NewsServices.com

Combining ground-breaking integrated full-scale technology and state-of-the-art innovation, Melbourne-based company, Big Plans, has redefined and revolutionalised the way future property owners approach designing, building, renovating and buying a home or commercial space.

Big Plans Melbourne blows up house and commercial design floor plans to real size, allowing clients to easily visualise and experience what their design will look like.  Based in North Melbourne in a 650 square meter luxury warehouse, Big Plans can also lay out how furniture will work in a space, position kitchen appliances and map out the ideal positions for doors and windows.

The beauty and ingenuity of Big Plans is that clients are able to identify the smallest of adjustments before costly errors are made.  Designers are also able to walk through the plans of a home and help clients to make small changes that may not be picked up on the plans – saving time and money during the build.

And now, Big Plans has combined VR technology with the 1:1 scaled projected floor plans to allow clients to deep dive into their designs with colour, dimension and 3D form.  Wearing the wireless headset, clients can be enveloped in their designs with an accuracy that has never been offered before.

And when changes do need to be made, Big Plans can provide the insightful advice in how to maximise and streamline spaces that will benefit and amplify the overall build.

According to Big Plans co-founder, Dario Guerreiro, Big Plans is committed to problem solve issue layout challenges in the easiest way possible for clients.

“We want our clients to have the confidence to leave Big Plans armed with self-assurance and insight that their new home is on point, with no surprises when building actually starts.”

Tass Cico, Co-founder, Big Plans adds, “Designing and building a new home takes a lot of time, money and resources to make it happen.  There is no reason to risk any element of the build. Take the guess work out for the process and make informed decisions on greatest assets.”

“When we project on the floor, customers, builders and architects are floored that they can shuffle the mockup walls and other features to the desired position, even it is tweaking 100mm from a mock up wall or moving a toilet.  It makes a world of difference.”

Big Plans client, Heather Theodoulou, had a clear vision of what her family home design should look like, but she struggled to use the two-dimension drawings in having that clarity she needed to make sound design decisions.

Heather and her husband Dave were no strangers to creating and building family homes, and the latest home would be the ultimate empty nesters retreat, complete with studio and spacious living areas.

But in her heart and head, Heather felt that the design wasn’t quite right.  Her builder, Square Metre Developments, recommended to explore Big Plans Melbourne where she could dive into the design and experience her house design in a 1:1 scale.

And she wasn’t disappointed.

Heather always had question marks when it came to her the size of the master suite wardrobes, being able to see the toilet from the living room, as well as adjusting cabinetry in her kitchen.

“They may seem like small tweaks, but it’s those smaller elements, which made a huge difference to the way we felt about the design and functionality.  Big Plans allowed me to visualise our house in the most extraordinary way, including the opportunity to shuffle furniture around and giving me that sense of space that I needed to fully understand the design.”

According to Tony Gagliatti, Builder, Square Metre Developments, introducing Big Plans Melbourne to her client Heather was a master stroke in planning.

“With Heather’s main challenge in trying to visualise the design from the plans, Big Plans certainly came to the rescue. It is certainly a cost saver and smarter to adjust plans on paper, rather than making changes when I start putting up walls.  The smallest of changes may make the grandest of impacts for a client so I think Big Plans should be part of every home builder’s journey.”
